Product development and manufacturing

Terms of cooperation

Here I explain openly how I work on product development and manufacturing, how payment is structured and what each side is responsible for. For pricing and details on your project, message me on WhatsApp.

01

How we work: fabrics

  1. Confirming the collaboration.
  2. Discussing all your wishes and requirements for the fabrics.
  3. Scheduling a date for online or in-person accompaniment at the factories.
  4. Selecting the most suitable options and discussing them. You receive photos, videos and full details on every option.
  5. Receiving physical samples of the fabrics that suit you, delivered within 4–5 days.
  6. Once the samples are approved — agreeing on quantities, lead times and every detail of the bulk purchase.
  7. Payment and purchase.
  8. Delivery.
02

How we work: production

  1. Confirming the collaboration and discussing the concept.
  2. Agreeing on the technical brief (references, fabric, fit, sizes, details).
  3. Pattern making.
  4. Sewing the sample.
  5. Adjustments (if needed).
  6. Approval of the final sample.
  7. Calculating the production run and lead times.
  8. Production prepayment.
  9. Launching bulk production.
  10. Quality control before shipping.
  11. Packing and handover to the client.
03

Scope of cooperation

The service covers full support through product development and manufacturing: creating the designs, preparing for launch and producing the run.

These terms apply to:

  • apparel
  • home textiles
  • accessories
  • private label products
04

Service fee

Development and production launch is offered at a fixed fee that covers a set number of designs; each additional design is charged separately. Message me on WhatsApp for current pricing.

  • The service fee is paid 100% before work begins.
  • An additional design is paid for before its development starts.
  • Work on the project starts only after payment in full.
  • The service fee is non-refundable once work has started.
05

Payment for fabrics and production

Fabrics, trims and sewing are paid for separately from the service fee. Payment schedule:

  • 50% prepayment before production starts
  • 50% before the finished goods are shipped

Once production has started, the order cannot be cancelled.

If the order is cancelled after the prepayment, the amount paid is non-refundable.

06

Price lock

The production price is fixed after:

  • the sample is approved
  • the quantity is agreed
  • the prepayment is made

Once the prepayment is made, the agreed price cannot be changed.

07

Sample and product conformity

Bulk production starts only after the sample is approved.

Once the sample is approved (fit, size, fabric, colour, trims, details), the finished run is made in line with the approved sample.

If production is started without an approved sample, comments on fit, colour or details are not grounds for compensation or for revising the terms.

Minor technical variations are acceptable and are not grounds for compensation.

08

Size grading

One base size is approved.

The other sizes are graded according to the agreed size chart.

Minor differences in fit between sizes are not grounds for revising the terms or for compensation.

09

Acceptable defect rate

In bulk production a technical defect rate of up to 3% of the total run is acceptable. This rate is considered a production norm.

If it is exceeded, the matter is resolved by agreeing on compensation or rework.

10

Material overuse

During production, technical fabric overuse of up to 5% of the calculated volume is acceptable.

This is due to cutting specifics and the technical parameters of the product, and is not grounds for revising the price.

11

Lead times

Lead times are approximate and may vary by ±1 week depending on:

  • factory workload
  • material availability
  • product complexity

Delivery time is not included in the production lead time.

12

Changes to the technical brief

Once the sample is approved and production has started, no changes to the design, construction, fabric or details are possible.

If changes are needed:

  • production is paused
  • the cost is recalculated
  • new lead times are agreed
  • additional costs are paid by the client
13

Logistics and storage

Delivery is charged separately. Delivery times depend on the logistics company.

Finished goods are stored free of charge for 5 working days after notice that they are ready. Storage beyond that may be charged extra.

14

Intellectual property

All patterns and designs developed within the project belong to the Client after payment in full.

Melissa Yildiz does not use patterns or designs created for the Client for other clients without the Client's written consent.

Technical processes and production know-how remain the property of the Contractor.

15

Confidentiality

Information about production, suppliers and internal processes is confidential and may not be shared with third parties.
